Background of the Study
Cross River State, located in the southeastern region of Nigeria, is home to one of the country’s richest biodiversity hotspots, including tropical rainforests, mangroves, and endemic wildlife species. However, rapid industrialization, deforestation, and unsustainable agricultural practices have resulted in significant biodiversity loss, threatening the state’s ecosystem and the livelihoods of local communities.
Corporate biodiversity conservation has emerged as a critical strategy for promoting environmental sustainability. Companies operating in Cross River State are increasingly expected to integrate biodiversity considerations into their operations through initiatives such as habitat restoration, partnerships with conservation organizations, and sustainable resource management. According to Bassey et al. (2024), these efforts not only mitigate environmental degradation but also enhance corporate reputation and contribute to global sustainability goals.

Statement of the Problem
